A page from the Saur Bible. A “must” for an collection of Historic Americana. The First Bible to be printed in America in a European Language. Printed in 1743 in Germantown, Pa. by Christopher Saur. 1200 of this famous Bible were Originally printed in German, using Martin Luther’s version. Because of British Colonial restrictions, no complete Bibles in English were printed in America until 1782.
